The Taipei Xinyi business district is located between Taipei city hall and the Taipei 101 MRT station, the average passenger at both stations reached 5.68 million a month last year. The number reaches more than 68 million during the year and became the busiest shopping district. In this district, Edimax collaborated with the Taipei city government to install IoT Kiosks.
Kiosk IoT is a device that integrates with various software, hardware and cloud services, its main benefits are for internet services, guiding tours, providing real-time air quality information, serving advertisements, emergency disaster prevention systems.
From the device side, it weighs 400kg, it is earthquake-resistant and wind-resistant. The screen is 55 inches in high resolution and the brightness of the screen can adapt automatically. There is also a place for USB charging on the side so you can charge your smartphone. The touch sensitive screen can help you to find information with just one touch.
Kiosk IoT also has an outdoor AirBox AI-3001WE installed on top of the kiosk (Full Outdoor Air Quality Solution) to detect environmental information such as PM2.5, air quality, humidity, and temperature of shopping areas, then actively update the real-time air quality of the area to the public via the EdiGreen cloud.
So far IoT kiosks have been installed along Xinyi Place where luxury shopping malls, including Bellavita, Breeze Xinyi, ShinKong Mitsukoshi A4, A8, A9 and A11, Breeze Songgao, Xinyi Vieshow, ATT4Fun, Breeze Nanshan and Taipei 101 are located. These places are favorite shopping hotspots for Taipei residents, and must-sees for travelers from all over the world.
